Fagerhult

In Fagerhult’s world, good interior lighting is built on a combination of focal glow, ambient luminescence, and the play of brilliants. They call it the good light. But what makes good light good? How do the choices you make affect aesthetics, energy costs, and the climate? To answer these questions, Fagerhult decided to shed some light on the consequences of different options. With the interactive tool “Recipe of Light”, customers can easily visualise how their decisions create ripple effects. The tool stands as a testament to what can be achieved when innovation, inspiration, and illumination come together.

“Recipe of Light” provides a framework for determining which type of lighting best supports what customers want to achieve in their projects. The secret sauce Grace and Fagerhult have cooked up is an interactive 3D experience that makes the complexity of lighting both tangible and easy to understand. Users are now one step closer to finding the good light – and will hopefully gain a newfound appreciation for the art and science of illumination.

The project spanned the full process: design sprints, prototyping, user testing, workshops, UX design, 3D production, and both backend and frontend development. Built with Sanity and Next.js, the tool brings together a modern technical foundation with a smooth, intuitive user experience – bringing the future of lighting communication to life.
